Daturne is an upright broad-nib script, interpreted from a Victorian hand in the manner of French ronde, found on a tenancy certificate at Scotney Castle, Kent, dated 1876. The document held only a few capitals. They were a starting point, and the uppercase is largely invented, drawing on Flemish Renaissance court capitals, English copperplate and Art Nouveau lettering.
